Hello, Clearwater County! I’m Adam Gunderson, and I’m running for Sheriff because this community means a lot to me, just like it does to the people who call it home.

I’ve spent more than 25 years in law enforcement and 21 years serving in the Minnesota National Guard. I’ve dedicated my life to protecting and serving others. I started my career as a Patrol Officer and spent over two decades as a Police Chief. In those years, I managed departments, handled budgets, oversaw training, and managed the administrative side of law enforcement, ensuring everything ran smoothly and responsibly. Throughout that time, I’ve worked side by side with officers, built strong relationships in our communities, and earned the trust of the people I’ve served.

I believe the Sheriff’s Office should be professional, accountable, and most importantly, truly connected to the communities. As your Sheriff, I will focus on practical training and a common-sense approach to modern policing so our deputies are prepared for the challenges we face today.

I also know we’re stronger when we work together. I’m committed to building strong partnerships with neighboring agencies, encouraging open communication, and making sure we’re all working toward the same goal: keeping our communities safe.

I’m running for Sheriff to keep the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office strong, trusted, and focused on protecting our families, businesses, and neighborhoods.
